In 1973 a small group of wives and girlfriends whose partners sang with men’s barbershop choruses, decided they wanted to have a go at four-part harmony themselves. They formed a group called the Sussex Harmonetts.
By 1977 the group had grown and in the June of that year, now named The Brighton Ladies, they joined the Sweet Adelines oganisation at their International Convention at the Royal Albert Hall.
Fast forward to 1984 and there was a further change of name to Coastline Harmony to reflect the fact that many members came from other areas.
And here we are, still singing out loud and strong.
We keep in touch with all our members, past and present, and have regular social events.
